How to write a blog using Google Wave Robot for Posterous

Note: If you have problem with inputing the password, change your browser to Firefox. Currently, Google Wave has a lot of bugs with webkit browser.

Using Google Wave? And have a Posterous account? Now you can write your posterous blog in Google Wave now!

The Google Wave Robot for Posterous is built using Posterous API and Google Wave Robot Python Library. I will explain here how to use it.

1.In Google Wave, add posterous-robot@appspot.com in your contact.

2.Start a new Wave, and add posterous-robot@appspot.com as a participant.

3.There will be a form in the wave. Click "Done" and fill out the form using your Posterous account. Click "Login to Posterous".

4.Now you can post through Google Wave Robot for Posterous. Start a new wave and add the robot like in step 2. Edit the root wavlet's title and body.

5.Click "Done" and your post will be sent. You will get a post.ly url for your new post. Congratulations!

On Chrome/Linux, I can't click into the password field. The cursor moves to the start of the "Password" label. I can't tab into it either.

Got mine to work last night. Not sure what I did different. One thing I think I did differently is I created a new wave and added the Posterous bot, then clicked done. After that, I tried to log in and was permitted to do so. It seems that when still editing/composing the wave, the login fields don't function properly.

Carolyn (http://posterous.com/people/3yqZW6Hjk), no, you don't have to confirm the Wave account in Posterous in order to post via the bot. Somehow, they've managed to sidestep that process in the Wave bot. You just log in via the bot and from that point forward, you can post via the bot.

Yeah, so the sign on doesn't work with the password field in Chrome or Chromium. It does work in Firefox, but you have to wait a little bit for the button to work.

It works with firefox but at the moment it only transfers text no pictures to the blog

Pretty cool! It works great once I switched to FF from Safari for the initial login. After that, it didn't seem to matter.
Thank you.

Okey-dokey, got it figured out (text-wise, anyways). Now, any plans to create an extension or bot to embed an entire Wave in a blog? Because that is my next step and I really like Posterous for its ease of use and would like to stay here!

I love your robot, but what I would consider even cooler would be if you could add the robot to an existing wave and post that to posterous. Maybe by adding the login prompt in a reply instead of in the main body.

This way I could edit the wave for several iterations (possibly with friends) and post it once it is finished.
